Moxie Minute: The shift nobody warns you about

There's an identity shift that comes with scaling—and barely anyone talks about it.

(Which is why I'm gonna...)

I was on a mastermind call recently. A coach was describing her team.

She has a VA running her ads, another handling customer service, and another for social media...

Lots of help. But still frustrated and overworked.

Then she said something that stopped me mid coffee sip.

"I know I'm the bottleneck. I want them to own things. I want them to feel empowered."

She knew exactly what the problem was.

But knowing what the problem is and knowing how to solve it are two entirely different things.

Most coaches and course creators I work with don't have a team problem. They have a role and identity problem.

They're still operating like the worker—the one who does the tasks, approves every post, tweaks every caption, double-checks every email. (Sound familiar?)

But they're dreaming of something bigger.

A business that runs without them touching everything. A team that owns their lane. Space to actually think, lead, and grow.

That's not a hiring problem. That's not even a delegation problem—not yet.

That's an identity shift.

The jump from "Overworked Expert" to "Visionary CEO" doesn't happen because you finally find the right people.

It happens when you decide—really decide—that your job is to lead the business, not just run it.

The systems. The processes. The trust with your team…Those come after the decision. Not before it.

This coach already had the awareness.

But she hadn't yet shifted her identity to match her ambition.

Maybe you have. Maybe you haven't.

Either way—that's where it starts.

As promised, value in under a minute.

A bigger business shouldn't require a smaller life. Here are five ways to make sure it doesn't: 1️⃣ Increase your prices. Let's not overcomplicate this. You're probably undercharging. Up those prices... like, yesterday. 2️⃣ Ruthlessly edit what you allow on your calendar. One of the biggest challenges I see with the coaches and consultants I work with is their calendars are Bloated with a capital B. They say "yes" too quickly and "no" too infrequently. Learn the art of a quick and decisive no....

Hi Friend! 👋 I just dropped a new private podcast that I think you're gonna love. It's called The Gap. It's for coaches and consultants who've built a successful business, scaled past six-figures, but who feel like their business slowly started demanding more of them than they ever expected it would. Over this 6-part audio series, we explore why that happens and what it actually takes to build a business that supports your life instead of constantly competing with it. 🎧 Listen here. Amy...

I think one of the biggest mistakes established coaches and consultants make is assuming every problem is a strategy problem.→ Sales dip? "I need a new marketing strategy."→ Projects fall behind? "I need a new project management tool."→ Team members keep making mistakes? "I probably hired the wrong person."Sometimes that's true. But more often? The strategy isn't actually the problem. The execution is.I've worked with enough expert coaches and consultants to notice a pattern:→ The marketing...
